About

Jo Mc Allister is a printmaker who is based next to the Severn Estuary in the UK who uses intaglio processes to create works that evoke a sense of the temporalities  within contemporary industrial and coastal landscapes, translating the impacts of human activities through drawing and print. The interplay between the matrix [plate] and the substrate [paper] acts as a personal interpretations of these posthuman landscapes from the furthest reaches of the British Isles.

Currently she is developing non-toxic methods at Severnside Printworks where she creates etchings that are mindful of environmental impact whilst developing a sustainable practice. She was awarded the Kingslake-Jones Drawing Prize 2021 for drawing and State of the Art award 2021, Printmaking Today after completing a BA in Drawing & Print at UWE (University the West of England). Currently she is a member of Cardiff Print Workshop where she sells her work and exhibits.
